Practice Update – October 2020

TEAM CHANGES

We are very sad to announce that Jared, our Trainee Accountant, will be leaving Adderley, Hill & Co at the end of the October 2020. He has been a valued part of the team and with us for over 3 years, joining us fresh from college. Jared has decided working in Practice is no longer for him and is hoping to peruse a career in his passion of electronic gaming. Everyone here is very sad to see him go and I’m sure clients will also miss his friendly approach. We wish him all the best for the future!

We are also sad to announce that Felicity will be taking a step back from the business. Having worked in Accountancy since the age of 18, this year has seen her stretched to new levels with having to overnight learn all things Furlough, handle two small children at home and a close family bereavement. Felicity will still be on hand ‘behind the scenes’ and will still handle all specialist tax projects. She’s not gone forever, she just needs to take a break from ‘2020’, which I’m sure many of you can also relate to.

Stephen will still oversee the day to day running of the business however the team will be assisting him as much as possible to ensure best practice!

However, it’s not all bad news in the past 2 months we have also had two new members join the Adderley, Hill & Co team, Komal and Kate.

Komal is our new Client Manager – she will be responsible for a lot of day to day client contact and is predominantly involved in the preparation of clients accounts.

Kate T has joined the team as Office Manager and joins us with over 3 years experience in practice. Kate is responsible for ensuring internal deadlines are met, assisting with our website, marketing and communicating with our clients. Kate will be assisting Sally to improve our client on boarding process to ensure that we are welcoming new clients as smoothly as possible.

Katie H joined the team in March as Payroll Administrator – great timing ahead of the Furlough scheme. Katie has excelled in the role and she is now many of our clients go-to for anything payroll related. She has helped the vast majority of our clients with their Furlough claims and we are delighted to announce her new role as Payroll manager.

CHRISTMAS

As we head into our busiest period leading up to tax return deadline (31 January 2021), we would like to thank you in advance for your patience.

The office will be closed from midday on 23rd December 2020 and will re-open as normal at 9am on 4th January 2021.

During this period we are also undergoing some IT improvements so we would like to ask clients to avoid emailing us during this period where possible.

If you have any questions on any of the above, please feel free to contact the office on 01527 872752.
